February Update

Hearts on fire, we’re almost done with February!

How did that happen?

I suspect the answer is one day at a time, but the days! We had snow day number 6 here last week and the one saving grace was that my little one still got to go to daycare. This left me one on one with the eldest instead of practicing zone defense like all the times before.

It was a good thing I came to work because I’ve become a Girl Scout cookie dealer and some of my coworkers needed a box or two. I’m setting them up. And then, as if I weren’t already up to my knees in GS cookies, I made sugar cookies for my daughter’s class for Valentines Day . Why? Because I’m a glutton for punishment. And guess what? They still had to be decorated. Thankfully, I planned ahead and they were baked, cooled, and just hanging out, waiting for their royal icing treatment.

February has been brief, but intense, and now it’s almost over. One more week and we move into March. Hopefully some warmer weather will come with it, but last year we had snow in April.

In other exciting news, I signed up for the local writer’s conference here in Madison. I don’t know if I’ll pitch my book to anyone, but it should be a lot of fun. I’ve attended this particular conference for the last 4 or 5 years and it’s a good time. They’re celebrating their 30th anniversary this year, so it’s sure to be something extra.

Hope everyone has a good end to their February.

  1. I just attend a creativity retreat. One of the first items she had us do was change our language to, “I get to…” Sort of forces a more fun perspective. So, you get to go to the Madison Writer’s Conference! You get to pitch a book! woo-hoo!
